Expect bad customer service and long wait times.

WA vs. PA It was not a pleasant experience for me. The initial sales representative I spoke with stated that she would be accessible for contact throughout the process if necessary, but I never heard from her again after signing the contract, and I never received a confirmation email in the meanwhile. The pod was picked up a day later than expected. The pod arrived late, despite the fact that I had been given a delivery confirmation, and it hadn't even arrived at the facility yet. Even though I was able to obtain a legitimate confirmation, the package arrived a day late. On top of that, there were additional expenses for gas, which I was aware of, but the insurance coverage was not included until the very end, and I ended up paying far more than was originally disclosed. Overall, we were very unsatisfied with the service and received a 6% refund on a $5,000+ relocation after numerous calls and missing our belongings for almost two weeks with no attempt from the firm to contact us. In the future, I do not intend to utilize this company. In addition, the pod's frame was smashed in a few spots, causing some of our belongings to be damaged.

Customer Support was atrocious.

Please stay away from this moving business. They are not truthful. We were relocating our elderly aunt from Oklahoma to Louisiana and needed the furniture delivered later because we would be out of town. My salesperson assured me that I would be able to set my drop-off time with the driver at a later date, but on the day they were due to pick up the furniture, the firm they hired to conduct the relocation advised me that it would be a direct delivery.  trucking (the company they chose to conduct the transfer) told me I couldn't plan the delivery for a later date and that if they had known I needed storage, they would not have accepted the work. I attempted to contact Gold Standard about this, but they pretended to be unaware of the situation. I attempted to call the salesperson, who advised me to inquire with the corporation about storage. Then he didn't say anything else. When I texted him to tell him I was going to give them a poor review, he responded appropriately. They were completely useless. They refused to return our deposit. Horrible, dreadful customer service. They didn't mind until they got the deposit. Don't believe the falsehoods. They'll tell you that they already have a truck heading that way, so you're only paying for labor. They will inquire if you have previously gotten quotations and will give you a lesser quote, but as nice as it sounds, it isn't worth it. They are not affiliated with the BBB, which is a red sign. Do not squander your time or money. They refused to refund our deposit despite the fact that we were within the 10-day cancellation period.

Do not put your confidence in them.

National Van Lines transported me from Chicago, Illinois to Las Vegas, Nevada. They are the most heinous. Not only did they leave my belongings unattended and unlocked in a vehicle on a street, but they also misplaced several extremely important goods such as a grandfather clock, laptop, and cordless power drill. Then they refused to stand by their service and issued a $35 cheque to cover the cost of the items they lost!

0 stars

I would give this firm 0 stars if I could. I'm set to start a residency in general surgery on Friday. They were scheduled to move me on Monday. They didn't show up, and they didn't call to let us know there was an issue. We had to contact them and wait for an hour before speaking with anyone. They just canceled our relocation after speaking with multiple persons. It's a bad company.

If you value professional services, look elsewhere.

While some may believe that spending a little bit more would result in a better or more professional service, this is not the case with Carter Moving and Delivery. Throughout the entire procedure, from in-home estimation to delivery, we had a slew of problems. Our in-home estimate was offered by one of their "Vice Presidents," and it ended up costing us 40% more than we anticipated on move-day. After weeks of arguing over the phone and over email, Carter Moving and Delivery graciously agreed to reimburse us for the most, but not all, of the overage. This is despite their website stating that they will stick to their estimations. Both sets of packing and delivery employees seemed outsourced and showed little to no concern for our things or the walls of our home. Even talking about damaging some of our belongings on the spot and then insisting we tip them before they would go. The disassembly and reassembly of our two huge furniture pieces resulted in a damaged dining room table, as well as several sheared-off and stripped screws. We decided not to have them try to build our second piece of furniture. Many of our possessions and valuables had been thrown around and then improperly packed, resulting in many damages for which neither the insurance company nor Carter Moving and Delivery would pay us. Several items would have gone entirely unnoticed while packaging if we hadn't been vigilant in tidying up after the staff. This was one of those lessons that taught us that if you want anything done correctly, you should do it yourself. Or, at the very least, do not invite Carter Moving and Delivery to join.

Keep away from them

Doug from Carter Moving and Delivery called me and gave me an estimate over the phone. He also gushed about their A+ BBB rating and the hundreds of maneuvers they do. I eventually paid a deposit and scheduled pickup date, and he promised me that he would be in touch during the relocation. I didn't hear from him again after that. When you dial their number, no one answers.

Take precautions.

Buyer beware...this is a very inexperienced firm. Items that were damaged had to be repaired or discarded. When the movers arrived, the salesperson raised the quotation to $3500 from around $1500. The salesperson claimed to be honest and accurate, yet he failed to take down the dimensions of my furniture and calculate charges by cubic feet. The foreman in charge of my transfer became enraged because I contacted him while I was in another country. He instructed me to call him when he awoke. I assumed I was the customer, and he was performing a service for me. The supervisor acted in an unprofessional manner. I would advise anyone planning a move to use the Better Business Bureau's movers recommendations.

Thank you for this job.

Now is my open and real account of my experience.  My estimator was amazing; we're still texting each other a month later to catch up. The office personnel and booking procedure were excellent. I didn't have my boxes chosen out when I booked it,  I didn't have my boxes chosen out when I booked it,  Delivery was supposed to take 7-10 days, but it took 16 days. Overall, they are a nice company, but when delivery is late, it is quite annoying. As promised, here is my honest assistance of the salesmen. Thank you for working so hard for our family.

Long distance move

They had terrible communication with me throughout the move process. My things arrived broken, my furniture was destroyed. Not satisfied with that, we also ended up paying them double what they had quoted us. Their customer service is non-existent.

Horrible. Liars

I gave them a complete inventory of my things and even so when the movers arrived, they charged me $ 3000 more than the quote. They are only attentive to you at the beginning, and once you sign the contract, you are lost.
