Don't be deceived by four-star reviews!
This organization is outstanding at accepting deposits and providing low-balling quotes. I gave them a deposit of $8000 in exchange for a contractual quote of roughly $20,000. I was under the notion that we would receive a large moving vehicle as well as an extra little one in case we required it. On moving day, Van Lines arrived in three hired Penske trucks, much to our amazement. Please see my review of that company. After all, was said and done, the total cost came to $50,000. This company should be avoided. Don't believe their too-good-to-be-true quotes. Check the FMCSA first, and check for yourself the 91 complaints received this year. They will defraud you. Locate a reputable moving company.
*Full payment made **And Yet no Items
It was the worst experience I'd ever had. This company should not be used. Your money and furniture will never be seen again they are really good movers when it comes to losing your stuff they are too new. They are not a legitimate business. Scam!!
Avoid them
They will entice you with a low estimate and then allocate your move to a moving company. Any business. In my instance, it is "Most Valuable Movers" they were 3 hours late and highly unfrofessional. After they went, I discovered a broken wine glass in a drawer. The next day, I received a call from the moving firm informing me that the actual fee would be nearly three times the original estimate! Calls to Moving Van Lines of America go unanswered and unreturned. My possessions will not arrive until next week, according to the moving company. It's been over two weeks since the pick-up. Fortunately, I was wise enough to utilize and will contest these charges. DO NOT APPLY! Choose a reliable company. They're worthless and not worth the hassle.
The Most Valuable Items Had Gone Missing.
I was guaranteed two things: First of all I was to have 24 hours' notice of delivery; and the second no cash payment was asked for anything. Months later, the mover contacted to say he'd be there in two to three hours and demanded cash payment. I absolutely refused. Following a major delay, the mover contacted me again with a two hours notice, urging that I take of the delivery payment of $300 I also paid a redelivery charge. The business then informed me that I would be given a proper warning and would not be charged a "redelivery fee." The next day when the mover called me, he gave me three hours' warning and demanded that I pay the redelivery and storage expenses in cash.
where are my items!?
They appear to grab your money, in our case more than $6000, and run. We've booked delivery for Thursday, June 10th, at 10 a.m. The day prior, we were phoned and asked whether Friday would be a better day. Today is Sunday, and they have not called to apologize for not coming up, and you may expect up to 2 hours of hold time if you contact customer support. My next action will be to contact the local media since Van Lines of America LLC Idiots do not deserve anyone's business.
They can make it better.
This is a service firm that does not provide customer service. They just canceled our (written) agreement and did not pick up my belongings, and after more than an hour of speaking with their representatives, I discovered that this was due to the fact that my move would cost more to service than they estimated at the time of the quotation. They outbid a competitor for my business, but due to the delays caused by them acting as if they were going to complete my move, I ended up going with the other company for more than 600 dollars more than the initial pricing. "Oh well, we said we'd do it for more money, too," Van Lines of America LLC replied. The worst, worst, worst corporate experience I've ever had. It appears to be a complete hoax. Their true name is 1800 packrat, and they also do business under that moniker. Make an effort to avoid both. I've moved a lot due to the military, and I recommend U-pack and subsequently PODS for self-service moves. If you're willing to make the journey, you can't go wrong with U-Haul or Penske.
Do not even waste your time with this business.
They do not have a solid network in other states and continue to cost you even after your container has been removed from storage. I gave them plenty of notice to relocate my container from Virginia to Texas, yet it took them about a month to do it after I called and emailed them several times. In Texas, I had to hire a vehicle to pick up my belongings since their partner in the DFW region wanted to deliver my container in two weeks. They are simply interested in your money and do not care about offering a dependable service. Even though my container is not in storage, I have been charged for storage. Service that is awful!
Worst company I've ever worked with!
This firm should not be used. For nearly a month, we had two containers booked. We got emails on the day they were meant to come informing us that they would be there. As the day progressed, I became anxious since I had not heard from anyone. I phoned and was promised they would be there shortly. They never arrived, and the movers arrived the next day to load. I had to pay the 2-and-a-half-hour minimum and look for another firm.
Can I offer a rating of less than one star?
Initially, there were no complications with picking up our possessions or scheduling. The team who arrived to load complained that they would have to walk through grass, which would "mess up my new shoes," and that they didn't want to use their hand cart since it would have to be cleaned afterward. The delivery process has not yet been finished. They originally contacted to claim they would be unable to deliver to the location I gave them when they were hired. And told me I'd have to dive the 2 hours myself to get it. Obviously, I hired them since I couldn't transport the stuff alone. They then offered to reschedule the service for the next weekend. They did not call that day, but when I phoned shortly afternoon (a morning delivery had been promised), I was told that the crew had called out and they would be unable to deliver that day. They were aware and did not even contact me to notify me. I'm now waiting for a second rescheduled delivery in two days, and if it doesn't arrive, I'll file an insurance claim as well as legal (theft) accusations. Their personnel was both clueless and unconcerned about why I was so dissatisfied with their lack of service.
scammers!!
Do Not Use This Company; they take advantage of unsuspecting customers. Van Lines of America LLC California, in my opinion, is conducting a swindle-moving operation on its clients. My boyfriend and I just relocated from Los Angeles to Wisconsin, and we were able to reach anyone at Van Lines of America LLC within a few rings of a phone call. They are now IMPOSSIBLE to reach in order to receive all of my furniture, etc. Phone calls are disconnected, some numbers are sent to voicemail, and emails are not returned. We are anxiously trying to find out when we will receive our furniture, but they are refusing to cooperate, in dispatch have promised to react with an ETA four times and have yet to do so. According to our contract, "a corporate officer must call the customer to confirm delivery time period before the shipment leaves for the destination." This did not occur. The driver will notify the customer of the time period at least one day before the package is delivered. This, too, does not occur. Not to mention that our first estimate was greatly exaggerated. $1659 suddenly became $3005 due to expenses I was not aware of prior to booking with the firm.
