Good company
This moving company was fantastic, and they kept in touch with me via phone calls, emails, and text messages. I never had to be concerned. They made a move look so easy. The movers were nice, courteous, and efficient. It'd be great to work with you guys again. I could not have asked for a more pleasant moving experience. Recommended!

Disgusted with their job
We received bids from three firms, and Dumbo Moving was by far the cheapest. We chose them since they had excellent internet reviews. That was a major blunder. The movers entirely destroyed two things and injured nine others, taking great care to conceal some of the goods they destroyed. The foreman assured us that customer service would take care of us, but they never responded our numerous phone calls. We eventually contested $500 of the charge with Discover, and Dumbo Moving replied dishonestly, including the incredible accusation that WE had not responded to THEIR attempts to reach us. As I was about to sue them in court, I called one more time - and got Amy, the only good person in the office, at ext 252. She and I figured it out in less than five minutes. I withdrew the dispute, she reimbursed $400, therefore everything was OK, right? The next day, the firm CEO issued a scathing email and left an even more heinous voicemail, threatening to take us to court for fraud. He didn't seem to realize we'd abandoned the credit card dispute. Instead of questioning, he threatened and insulted us, which was perplexing. My wife received the email first and gently informed him of the facts, to which he replied, "OK." There was no apology, nothing. I then heard the VM, read the email, and responded with a stern email. He's now escalated, threatening to have me arrested (for what I'm not sure), sending his attorneys after me, labeling me a crook, you name it. This firm is a complete failure. They are fortunate to have Amy on their side; without her, they may have been sued into extinction. If I ever need a mover again, I'll check for bids from firms that don't have to demand high fees to fund their advertising costs, and maybe find a place that is honest and nice through word of mouth. It's not going to be Dumbo moving.
Do Not Work With This Company
I hired this firm to transfer my possessions from Washington State to Virginia. the things were taken up. My belongings have still not been delivered yet informs me that they are still in storage in Washington and would not allow me to have another truck or carrier bring the things to me. The money has been paid in full, and they are way over the 21-day delivery deadline. Do not put your confidence in this firm!
Ridiculous amount
We were quoted around $2700, but the ultimate bill was far over $5,000. We added packing, which was stated at 700, but they then added a ridiculous amount for tiny things despite the fact that we did not wind up moving larger items that were included in the initial quotation. There were also difficulties with the kind of payments received that no one brought up. Only cash or money order upon delivery? That should be acknowledged and made clear from the start.

SCAMMERS
At first, everything seemed fine, but then they were negligent with my things, and they even lost a box with a lot of expensive clothes and other very valuable objects for me. They refused to attend to my claims and never answered my calls, only useless emails that did not resolve anything.

Incompetent
They never communicated correctly and fluently with me, they only sent two movers even though they were informed that there would be heavy objects and that we would need at least 4 guys to do the moving efficiently. The truck they sent was not the correct one and some objects were left behind. An expensive company that doesn't listen to the needs of their customers.

Hidden fees
Experts at charging extra fees! The budget they give at the beginning is only an initial amount because then they add more and more money to your invoice, and you are forced to pay it if you want to move because the extra charges are conveniently applied in the middle of the moving process. Any other company is probably much better than this.
They lie and scam you
Lies and more lies. They give you a low budget at the beginning and then when you can no longer regret it, they start charging you for a lot of extra things, even for move a box down the hall! They also wanted to hide that they broke one of my expensive mirrors, then one of the managers from the company tried to bribe me so that I would not put any negative criticism on them. This company takes advantage of you and makes your move a nightmare.

Terrible experience
With this company, you pay for things that you never receive. The team took too long to show up and also on the move process, and was very inefficient and disorganized, even my husband had to help them pack a lot of stuff. Every minute they said they had to charge us more for some extra item, and they also complained about the tip that we gave them and asked us for more. It was a terrible service.
Look elsewhere
A dishonest company. They tricked me with the contract and only covered 10% of the cost of all the things they broke, including some pretty expensive ones. The movers were not polite at all and the communication between the company and me was really pathetic. I hope no one else makes the mistake of hiring this company.
