Beacon Moving and logistics
NEVER NEVER and I mean NEVER use this company. The way Beacon conducts their business is not transparent or upfront. They bleed you with additional charges along with their business partners. It feels like a well orchestrated assault on your wallet. The experience with Beacon movers was appalling. Lie # 1 - I was mislead about the price (twice). Lie # 2 - I was lied to about the cancellation policy (twice) Lie # 3 - I was mislead about how the company operates Lie # 4 - I was lied to about the arrival date and time Lie # 5 - I was lied to about the price to transport my car Beacon Mover and logistics repeatedly stalled in an effort to mislead me and lied to me on the day of the move Let me explain. I was quoted for 3 movers to move my two bedroom who would load the moving truck, drive to my out of state residence and unload that truck at a price based on the contents I provided. I was also quoted for having my car transported to and from the same location. Lie # 1 When I booked the move I got a reasonable quote based on a loose inventory of what was to be moved. I was made believe (by Trevor) that a reasonable estimate of the items was sufficient since I was not at home and recalling items from memory. I was told I would be contacted prior to the move to fine tune my list. What I was actually being quoted for ( unknown to me at the time) was 410 cubic feet of space on “A” truck. Something I would find out several calls later. The way BM&L actually charge you is $900 per additional 6ft x 10ft x 4ft Lie # 2. I was contacted 5 days before my move to fine tune the list of contents scheduled to be moved. I was informed I would be charged an additional $1200 dollars for additional items that I had added to the list (Mainly 8 additional boxes, a mirror, 2 bicycles, a indoor tree, a floor lamp, 3 suitcases and 3 air-con window units). This was basically a 50% increase in the price. There was still no mention of how this figure was arrived at. It was at this point I felt that this company were misrepresenting how they did business however I was informed it was too late to cancel the booking (the 1st time I was lied to about 72 hour cancellation policy). At this point I also realized I was stuck with BM$L since there was not one 26ft U-Haul truck available to rent in the entire Boston area. I feel this schedule of being contacted days before your move is carefully orchestrated to force you to commit. Lie # 3 I was contacted again 3 days before the move in what felt like a carefully orchestrated move to extract more money. I was informed during this call that the movers would be sharing the truck for my move with another move and that it was likely the contents of my move would be unloaded in a central facility in New Jersey and reloaded onto another truck for the remainder of the move, something that was never explained during any of this previous communications with Beacon Movers and Logistics. With antique furniture and valuable contents, this was a major concern. I voiced my concern about items being loaded and unloaded with the contents of another residence and the potential for items getting mixed up or lost but I was informed not to worry that “there guys were good trust worthy guys”. I would discover on the day of the move that your movers are basically farmed out on the day of your move to whoever is available and who has space in their truck. At this point I just wanted out but again was lied to about the cancellation policy for the second time. Moments after that call I was called by an insurance provider informing me that Beacon’s basic insurance would only cover .60 cents per pound. In other words a 20lb television is insured for $12. $10k of coverage would be an additional $307 plus a 7% charge to use a credit card. Again it felt like this was a carefully orchestrated approach to bleeding your wallet. We were now up to $1500 in additional charges none of which was explained to me during the initial booking and assuming we did not go over the additional space allowance. Lie # 4. During this call 3 days before our move was also informed we were scheduled for our move for between 1+3pm on the 12th. Again not what was agreed upon during the initial booking and not what would actually happen in reality on the day. The way Beacon conducts their business is not transparent or upfront. They bleed you with additional charges along with their business partners. If this isn’t enough for you never use this company then the following should convince you because it got a lot worse on the day of the move. The day of the move. Our time slot of 1pm to 3pm was quickly evaporating and after several calls between 2:30 4:30 and I eventually got through to someone at 4:37. The customer service/ manager (Michael) informed me that my scheduled move date was the 12 OR potentially now the 13th. After arguing pleading for the move to be completed on the 12th I was informed that my movers would be there
Horrible moving expirence
This has to be the worst experience I've been through. Super disappointed. To begin with, they didn't pick up as scheduled. They demanded payment and even made us pay another unexpected fee. We had many broken items, the main item being my TV. The TV came cracked and didn't even work. When we filed a claim, they took forever to get back to us and made us redo the claim multiple times. When they finally responded, they said we were only eligible for $101 when the TV was worth $2,000. I would never recommend this to anybody—horrible service.

DO NOT USE THEM
I reached out to get a quote to move household items from Illinois to Alabama. Brian from Beacon and was very friendly and available to answer all of my questions. I was told that they would load our stuff... Drive our stuff to Alabama... and unload our stuff to the location that we wanted it. GREAT!!! YOU ARE HIRED!!! After signing it got a little weird. I am going to go right to my BIGGEST issue. The delivery driver showed up at 11PM. PM!! To bring our stuff. Requested Cash or Zelle. Refused to let me put "Final Move Payment" in the comments. When I called Beacon to express my discomfort in 1. The time of the delivery. and 2. The weird requests of the driver... I was told "You got your stuff didn't you!" By Aliyah or Elia or however you spell it. She also stated that Beacon outsources and has no control over who delivers. DO NOT USE THEM!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR COMFORT OR SAFETY!!
This is a scam; "DO NOT" fall for it.
This is a ruse; "DO NOT" fall for it. Avoid this company, particularly. They arrived me late, so they do not care about the time of arrival and they haven't care about my items, They don't have their own moving vehicles and instead utilize Beacon Shipping, which is even worse than these folks. Do not put your valuables in the hands of this company.
BEWARE-THEFT-
They hired individuals from an online ad to pack our house, and they came in and grabbed our wallet, which contained cash. A police report was filed, and the lead crew member revealed to officers that he didn't have any of their information. Only their first name, a brief description, and a phone number are provided. After the police report was filed, they quoted $9500 and came back with $20,000 instead. Ray, the company's "number 2," added, "We have your stuff, you signed the contract, and if you want your stuff, you're going to have to pay." DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY.
from Florida City to Naples
I misplaced my furnishings.
Beacon Shipping Logistics delivered my furniture but did not install any of the beds; they lost all of the brackets and screws. Despite my attempts to contact Beacon Shipping Logistics customer support and the person in charge of the delivery, neither contemplated correcting the matter promptly, despite the fact that I had no way of sleeping at my new house. They even advised me to sleep on the floor.
WORST EVER
I hired them to relocate my home goods from California to Florida. Two components went missing. I've been at odds with them since March of this year. They emailed me photographs of one broken item in June. I was told that the products were sent to New York, then returned to California. Then to Miami, Florida. The driver I was advised to contact for bringing in June indicated that the stuff he had not my items. He confirmed this with another motorist. State to State will not communicate with me. They keep hanging up on me. I called an attorney, who wrote a letter to the corporation with no response.

They are liers, do not trust on them
I was duped. They didn't bother informing me that the container had been severely damaged during shipment. I didn't find out until I had it delivered that it had gone into storage. The contents were a mess (my opinion is that the rig flipped or the container was dropped by the storage crane), and many items were damaged or destroyed. The cage doors were terribly misaligned and would not budge, so the delivery driver had to pry them open. I filled out their claim form and received no response. I've written them a dozen emails over the course of a few months and have yet to receive a response. I phoned their number, but they said it was just for sales and that the only way to contact them was via email. Stay clear from this group since they are a shady lot.
CHOOSE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
We couldn't get any contact about the relocation process going at first assistant and his boss repeatedly ignored our calls or intimidated us verbally. Our products were divided between two shipments and stored in a warehouse between them without any communication with us. When the first cargo arrived, they requested $1500 in cash or else they would charge us for waiting periods because it wasn't accessible at the time. We did not receive a receipt for the cash payment. Our 75-inch television was damaged and a family heritage picture was torn in the second shipment, which arrived five days later (not to mention multiple glass items broken). We contacted every day and were either ignored or met with hostility.
Bad service
Terrible, in a word!! The volume is half-underestimated by the salesperson. The pick-up was 6 hours delayed...they won't pick you up unless you sign paperwork stating that the volume is double what was predicted!! They won't measure, but you'll have to rely on their figures. The delivery was handled by a separate moving company. They claimed that the truck-to-stairs distance was greater than 70 feet and that they would need to pay an additional $100! When I requested them to measure, they started from the farthest entrance, despite the fact that they have one at the rear! I'm still waiting for my sofa ten days after the last delivery! As a result, your items may arrive in installments.
