nothing but a headache

My move was nothing but headache with A1A Movers LLC. In the first conversation with Ron D., a CA salesman, my move was told to be 1 price for my apt studio (estimated 300 cu.ft), which included: moving, camion, fuel, long walking, shuttle and lift charges. My comprehensive accounting of the furniture was examined by another company in person and estimated the same space allocated, so I was confident that this quote would be maintained. Allegedly, even one of A1A's trucks was already making a journey to my move, promising to deliver on 2/12 (a 2/9 pickup). But Gal, the head mover, told me when the movers came and took up my truck property, he 'eyed it' and I'd be far across my allocated space. All without trying to load my furniture to see the amount of space needed and without taking legitimate measures to support this new price. He said that my furniture would need 530 cubic feet to move me - note: no appliances or couches were in this movement. This added a further $1,000 to my move. He ignored and told my dispute about the 'needed' cubic feet. I needed to pay this new amount to me, otherwise my furniture wouldn't be taken. Because I had to board for my new home the next morning and my transfer day was on a Sunday I wouldn't have been able to find motors so shortly that they could reach my delivery date as well. He kept saying he 'd go to the bank with me to get the cash needed. I felt like I was extortioned and blackmailed through this whole ordeal. All the while, I tried without success to contact Ron, my salesman, to check whether he could help resolve the discrepancy between estimates and 'eyes.' When the movers left, I called the customer service A1A Movers to contest the blatant scam that just happened. It was told I would review my case and someone would be in touch. That was Sunday, November 2. To make matters worse by calling myself to confirm delivery and follow-up of my 2/10 request, I learned that the truck I was promising to take my furniture was a show-free event and that the promised delivery date of 2/12 was not met. When my furniture was delivered, they had no answers. All the faith I had in A1A Movers was gone by this point. I'd call to talk. With somebody, but I could talk to anybody it would be rare. When I caught them, they told me that they'd look into it and call me, but they didn't. I'd leave voice messages that have never been returned. Being aware that A1A Movers was taking their time to move on without solving my problems, I wanted to be ready to catch someone on the phone (Customer Service Rep or Frankie Supervisor). Therefore I looked online for each piece of furniture and box size to calculate the actual cubic space of my move. I measured 250 cubic feet from the measurements I found online. Not the 530 cubic feet that my movers have supplied. After 5 days (2/14), Frankie finally gave me a call back. We thought about my results. I asked him to prove how the estimate of the movers was accurate and even shared with him my calculations for every part of the move. When I concluded my call I asked him/her A1A Movers to correct the move by modifying the amount owed - given that I had paid the sum quoted for my 300 cubic feet of furniture (and some). My furniture was supplied by subcontractors later that day (2 days after the planned delivery date). Not the A1A team I've been promised. Unfortunately, I was obliged to pay the full amount based on 530 cubic feet in order to get my furniture. It's 2/19 today. I've tried to call customer service representatives, Frankie and Ron to update the review/review, but none of my calls are answered or returned. I'll try to get hold of them and would appreciate someone from the company contacting me to find this friendly. For you, the mover of the future, A1A Movers will misrepresent their skills and the consequences of their quotes and scam/extortion - taking advantage of your need to change furniture and avoiding your calls and ignoring your messages so that they never need to speak to you again. If you want a stress free move where you're not spent – don't even consider A1A Movers.

They are a broker

They 're not a company, they 're a dealer. We told them what we needed to move and they increased the price to more than $2000. They came two days after we had arranged to collect our things. It was 4 days after we had arranged for our things to be taken out of storage. Our boxes have been swallowed and destroyed. We took all the glassware and heavily lined this! In addition, our desk and shelf were missing. Worst skills in communication. You never call back or you just hope that they will come with your stuff one day. There are so many options with this company out there!!! Also do not be fooled by most positive Google reviews without profile pics from fake profiles. Click on the wrong post and you'll see the same experience for them like me!!! Save this pain for yourself.

They deserve Zero stars

The estimate they give you (Ian) is to get you in the door when they appear and the charges begin. They have to give the foremen on site a percentage of anything he can get out of you. I saw this coming, so before they loaded the truck, I took a tape measure and measured the space within the truck with the foremen. When the car was loaded, measurements were passed and 588cf foremen said we were going by lines on the lorry and its 788cf. I don't think basic arithmetic and tape measurement skills apply to A1A. They threatened to take the truck off and go on the sidewalk if I didn't pay. It's the worst you've been told!
