They are made for this job

My job doesn’t pay me well enough to buy new furniture after relocating. I just had to bring what I had with me when I was relocating. The company which helped make this possible was Jackson Movers. They took very good care of my furniture while transporting them over such a long distance. Not one piece suffered any kind of damage. These movers were so experienced and it seemed like they were made for this job!

H orrendous Experience with Jackson Movers: A Cautionary Tale

I recently had the misfortune of entrusting my move to Jackson Movers, and it turned out to be a nightmare from start to finish. Despite their initial promises of professionalism and care, the reality was far from it. Upon the arrival of my items, it was immediately evident that something had gone terribly wrong. My belongings were not just damaged; they were downright shattered and ruined. My TV, dresser, steamer, and more fell victim to their careless handling. What's even more infuriating is their lack of accountability and responsiveness. Despite reaching out multiple times, I have yet to receive any semblance of assistance from their claims department. Their excuse of using a third party to handle claims is not only unacceptable but also reflects a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. To add insult to injury, they were quick to charge me additional fees during drop-off, yet incapable of addressing the havoc they wreaked on my possessions. It's evident that their priorities lie in extracting money rather than providing the basic level of service one would expect from a reputable moving company. Regrettably, my decision to book through One Source Van Lines, who apparently subcontracted Jackson Movers, only compounded the issue. The lesson learned here is clear: steer clear of Jackson Movers at all costs. Their indifference towards customers and their belongings is nothing short of appalling. In hindsight, I would gladly pay double the amount to avoid the ordeal I endured with Jackson Movers. Spare yourself the anguish and seek out a moving company that values professionalism and respects your possessions. Trust me, the peace of mind is worth every penny.

They are criminals!

Jackson Movers proved to be an unreliable moving company in my experience. Initially connected with a broker who quoted a low rate, the situation took a turn when the driver arrived, demanding double the initially agreed-upon amount. The driver's tardiness led to significant inconveniences, causing my in-laws to miss their flight. Despite negotiating terms with the broker, the final outcome was deceptive, resulting in double the anticipated storage fees. Customer service showed little empathy, emphasizing that we should have been more vigilant during the signing process. The broker's promises were not honored; instead, there were unexpected charges and unresponsiveness to our calls. The handling of our in-law's inquiry was particularly unsettling, with the lady on the phone exhibiting bullying behavior. The overall storage cost for a 3-bedroom unit escalated to $1200. This experience with Jackson Movers left a negative impression, highlighting exploitative practices and a lack of ethical conduct. I strongly advise against engaging with them.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE COMPANY!!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. All of the other negative reviews are accurate. I purchased a move through a broker company (Compass Moving Group) unbeknownst to me until Jackson Movers showed up on the day of pick up. Compass gave me a moving estimate cost of $2749, with me only supposed to have paid $780 at pick up and $780 at delivery. When Jackson came to pick up my items, they said that my couch was bigger than what was listed so they added an additional 190 cub that ended up costing me an additional $600 out of pocket. They picked my items up on 12/1, and I signed the bill of lading contract with the first available delivery day of 12/20/2023. They then sent me an email later with another bill of lading form (IDK WHY) and I filled out 12/26/2023 as the date for that one. I never received a copy of that signed bill of lading, only the original so I was under the impression they were using the 12/20 date for delivery. Wrong, they did not. It is now 1/17/2023 and they JUST delivered my stuff. There was absolutely no communication from Jackson in between this time. I had to call them almost everyday for an update. And they did not even load my items on the truck until last week. Then, after calling them for an update earlier this week, they tell me that an additional shuttle service fee of $556 will need to be added to my balance because an 18 wheeler “can’t fit”. I live in an apartment building with a loading dock that was confirmed to fit a truck at 14.4’ high AND there is a grocery store at the bottom of the building, so regardless 18 wheelers drive on the street all of the time and are able to park at the loading docks, so they lied to extort me for more money. To top it all off, they damaged my items including a BRAND NEW 65’ TV THAT WAS $811. This TV was wrapped in blankets, a TV box, bubble wrap, so that means they were throwing my stuff around. I will be filing a claim and looking for legal recourse because this company is extremely negligent. OH ALSO, when the driver called me yesterday to give 24 hour notice, I had my father on the phone with me and was telling the driver that an 18 wheeler can fit and my dad said “is there anything you can do to help? You would think there’s something that can be done to help a young lady out” to which the driver replied “what kind of father are you that you can’t pay for it” ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This is how unprofessional these people are. They’re scammers and extort people for their money and they should not be allowed to conduct business. Please see photos of damaged property.

Worst Moving company

This company extorts its customers into paying more for issues that are not problems of the customer but that of the company. They held my furniture hostage for almost 30days and then when it was time for it to be delivered my furniture was completely broken and they have not given any type of service to help replace or pay for what they have broken. Extremely unprofessional!

Horrible company and service!!!!

I recently engaged the services of this moving company to relocate my furniture. Initially, they provided a quote, and upon acceptance, I paid the first half. However, upon their arrival at my location, I was surprised to be charged an additional $1000, citing large boxes and a hallway distance of over 75 feet. Following this, the promised delivery date shifted from December 29 to January 3, and as of today, nearly two weeks later, our furniture is still pending. This delay has resulted in added expenses for a hotel stay. Despite multiple attempts to contact them, the customer service has been extremely disappointing. Cristal, the representative we interacted with, provided inconsistent and unhelpful information. Furthermore, the company charged our credit card three times, falsely claiming the initial two transactions were declined. To date, no refund has been processed. This prolonged waiting period, coupled with the lack of communication and erroneous charges, has made this moving experience incredibly stressful. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this company; they have proven to be the worst movers I have ever dealt with. The entire ordeal has been nothing short of horrifying.

Beware!

I wasn’t going to leave a review, but a year later they keep emailing me to do so. Bait and switch on pricing, took 30 days to deliver, all items covered in dust and multiple broken items, when you try to file a claim you can not upload documents you were never provided with! STAY AWAY!!!!! Look on BBB complaints before you take a chance with them.

You're better off selling your things

$11,900 is what I paid for Jackson Movers to damage just about everything they touched and deliver my things a week later than I was told would be the latest. They even told me when I called to ask why my things were not on the way to my new house that I have to call them to tell them I paid because they have too many transactions to track. They put 3 massive holes in the walls of my old house when moving things out and did a poor job attempting to repair the damage. When my belonging finally arrived at my new house, many things were broken, damaged, and filthy. I was told that you're better off selling what you can't fit in a U-Haul and buying it when you get to your destination, and I now realize how correct that idea is. Take what you'd make on your selling those things and pair it with what you would pay these criminals and you can have nice new things to furnish your new house or apartment. Considering that not a single aspect of dealing with these people went as expected or even well, I didn't bother with a claim as I've heard about lowball offers and having to decling their offer and fight with them to get anything from them to make it worth your time.
