My movers were outstanding. They were friendly, professional, and got the job done early. They took a stressful situation and turned it into a high-five experience. I’m truly impressed with the quality of service. They were very friendly and courteous. Got it done on time with no damage.

Terrible Service

I wish I could give them a zero rating because our experience is terrible and appalling. 1. During my months long engagement, Mark Powers from Interstate never said once that the job is subcontracted to the Atlantic Group USA Long Distance and Out of State Movers until Atlantic showed up and my nightmare started. Atlantic movers left many things unwrapped and damaged multiple pieces of furniture including but not limited to a bed, a bookshelf, two dressers, a large TV console, an almost brand-new refrigerator. They lost a treadmill and a dresser. They threw expensive suites, dresses and coats into boxes without hanging them up like I would expect from a professional mover. Brand name shoes are tossed on top of each other like trash without any protection. The framed and glass of several arts were also broken. 2. Interstate didn't conduct an in-person evaluation to verify the amount of stuff to pack and move, even though I offered. My moving cost jumped from $14,000 to $27,000 between the initial and the final evaluation. After already paying over $5500 downpayment, we had no choice but to agree on the new price. Movers from the Atlantic Group USA Long Distance and Out of State took two plus days to pack the house and held our stuff hostage and mandated us to pay 70% of the remainder cost against the 50% Interstate communicated with us all the time. Interstate didn't get back to me until the next day after we already made the cash payment. 3. Atlantic Group movers delivered our stuff a week later than scheduled without the right equipment to offload heavy items. The ramp on the truck was broken. To speed up delivery, they loaded the items onto my driveway. Then they demanded more money to move my stuff from the driveway into the garage when it started to rain, holding my items for ransom. 4. We have spent more than two months working with Interstate and the Atlantic Group via calls and emails. We have submitted multiple damage reports since July 2023 but have not received any apology from Atlantic Group nor any compensation. I gave Interstate a 1 star because this company might be a decent one but the Atlantic Group they hired to handle my move sucks!

NOT A REAL MOVING CO- HORRIBLE SERVICE!

Run! Why are there mixed reviews on them? Because they’re a BROKER, not a moving company, so you have no way of knowing which company they will farm your move out to. Blake Johnson my sales rep who assured me they are great, gave me a total bait and switch. As soon as I signed the contact and paid, the nightmare began. I have already reached out to them to no avail AND to their 3rd party insurance company which is totally worthless. They’ll tell you your items are insured to get your business, but then say it’s 60 cents on the dollar for a claim, which basically means nothing, $4 on a $200 speciality lamp I have that they broke in half. They assured me everything would be on time, and assured me they'd be in communication, and that they are very careful with my things. That was NOT my experience at all. Their customer service rep was so rude, hung up on me multiple times when I was desperate, didn't give a care in the world that I was without all my belongings for weeks on end, and they were so late delivering that everything came the night before my new job. My stuff arrived broken, stained, the boxes were so badly manhandled they were dented in and some were collapsed, my mattress was barely covered in plastic as they drug it across the ground, which by this point had multiple holes in the plastic …. and I pointed out the damage and stains to it. My standing desk no longer works, my bottom dresser drawer now catches, they broke a $200 lamp, scratched my music speakers, all kinds of things. So I was told at least I could file an insurance claim to make it right. For thousands of dollars worth of damage, they offered me $48 for the claim... let alone the fact that the claim took hours to complete. What a waste, what a terrible experience, I would NEVER USE THEM again. And I asked many questions up front, to try and mitigate the horror stories I've heard about movers. Sad to say, I got taken and they pretend to have the best track record, but once they have your things in transit, they stop caring, stop calling back, what a bait and switch company. :( And "owner" please don't respond by saying to contact you if there's anything you can do. I already did... multiple times. It seems there is a reason your company has a terrible rating with the BBB. What you can do to make this right is reimburse the damage you caused to my items. I’ve already reached out many times… but no response, just like it was when I was moving. :(

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I never write bad reviews, this company was the worst I've ever experienced. They are NOT a moving company, rather a broker with many different people involved. Chris and his movers - James and other folks - are superb.

I can’t believe that such a good company exists in today’s times. Their professionalism speaks volumes. My entire move from was super smooth and I didn’t have even a single thing to complain about. No wonder most reviews are 5 stars and hardly any 3 stars or below. Please stop looking any further and use this company for your moves within jersey area or maybe NYC too. I definitely want to contact this company for any future moves

When speaking to an inter-state representative to set up your move, everything sounds amazing and so professional. However, once they come and pick up your belongings, you are at their mercy! They hire out to private family owned moving companies and you never know what you’re getting! We had a terrible experience once our things were picked up and had to constantly call or email for communication. We were told a number of different dates, several times, as to when our belongings would be delivered. We were we were delayed a total of three times and literally got our belongings just two days before the 30 day contract was up. So obviously, they weren’t going to do anything about our terrible experience because technically they did not break the contract. A little money back- even 10% would have allowed us to feel heard and our several delays acknowledged… but nothing! I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone, unless you have unlimited time to receive your belongings.

They took great care of wrapping my belongings

I hit the jackpot with this company! The owner Arnold quickly confirmed my reservation. With a 3 bedroom townhouse I worked with Maurice Dominique and Reggie. They took great care with wrapping transporting and placing all my belongings. They even helped with the little things like removing light bulbs and putting aside my donation items. I highly recommend this Movers. Wish I could give them 10 stars.

They were professional and extremely careful

I called for a last minute move and the coordinator Andrew was very professional and knowledgable gathering all of the necessary details to schedule my move for the next day. The day of the move it self Aaron and Bird were great! They gave me a call ahead of time to let me know that there was a delay beyond their control at the previous job site and they would be about 30 minutes late. They showed up at the new time they gave me and went right to work. Aaron and Bird were extremely professional and careful while disassembling and transporting my furniture to the storage unit. I was extremely satisfied with the service I received especially for the price I was charged!

Packed and moved my whole apartment

We executed a big 2 bedroom to 3 bedroom move in NYC and were thrilled how smoothly it all went. The team came in the night before and helped with the majority of the tough packing. Then finished in the morning before the 9am threshold to start using the freight elevators. They easily dealt with unplanned items such as our 8 foot fiddle leaf tree. We are still unpacking the 50+ crates and are impressed with the careful paper wrapped packing for sensitive items like our plates.
