Avoid them
Because this was a military maneuver, the cost is not correct. Numerous goods were destroyed as a result of poor packaging and apparent disdain for the property. Items were crammed into boxes, breaking/damaging the contents, and furniture was ruined during the transfer owing to improper placement in the moving vehicle. Household possessions were transferred to numerous separate trucks. Items were strapped so tightly that the freezer door bent, rendering the item worthless, and they refused to repair or even provide a partial refund. Due to a lack of documentary explanation, the company refused to pay the whole claim for damaged products. It took 5 months to get the claim validated, and once an offer is made, they would not budge no matter how much documentation you provide. I DO NOT RECOMMEND that you use this moving business.
Bad business. Beware!
I had a terrible experience with this firm. I called them and chatted with him. He offered me a quote of $1444.00 to relocate us. I provided him the whole inventory, and nothing more or less was loaded onto the moving vehicle. 1. The trucking firm is a subcontractor to another company. 2. They were scheduled to arrive between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., but did not arrive until 7:30 p.m. (in the night) and did not depart until 11:00 p.m. 3. The cost ended up being $1,000 higher than what He told me since the mover's charge was by square footage rather than weight. 4. Called Him to discuss the matter, and he stated he'd call me back in 3 minutes. He did not. I emailed him, but he never responded. What a dreadful company!
THEY ARE A FRAUD, DO NOT ANY DEAL WITH THEM
Their workers will take your money for a deposit, then tell you you never made a deposit, even if you have a COPY OF THE CHECK. They're RUDE and useless, and I've already lost hundreds of dollars because a manager "won't allow me to speak to accounting" to guarantee the check went to them. Also, there is a minimum transfer cost that they would not disclose to you.
Unprofessional movers
There was a lack of ownership of Pauline and Bob through my entire transaction and experience. They were both unprofessional and extremely presumptuous. Communication is good until you book it, after that it didn't exist unless I called from blocked phone numbers. I was expecting hiccups along the way, but nothing like this. I´d wish this kind of experience on my worst enemy. This company is the most disrespectful and poorly equipped LLC I've ever been dealing with. The price of my move more than doubled from what I was quoted and promised, keep in mind that I had moved from a TOWNHOUSE, and my cost was just shy of $6,000. I read the reviews about Companies moving around, and it didn't cost that much.
Would never use again
Firstable, they also have the name "Best American Movers" and the parent company is from North Carolina under the name of Fregat-Auto, Inc. I had two moves, one from my apartment in Boca Raton to Hollywood, Florida, and the other to Los Angeles, California. The first move was going well. The second move was terrible as their dispatcher, Pauline, wasn't honest with me about the estimated delivery time, so we had to go to Los Angeles and rent a hotel until the mover got there. We paid over $2,500 in housing fees, which were completely unnecessary if she had given us a window. Keep in mind that they've got up to 21 days to deliver your things. On the 16th day, we got ours. The long distance mover is a contractor so they have little control over it, but Pauline kept telling me when she thought I was going to get my delivery. There's a box or two missing, and somehow I can't get Pauline to call me back. Some of my wooden furniture has been beaten up. I'd say, Worst American Movers.
Worst experience ever
With this company, I moved about 600 miles to my new home. I read good reviews, and I chose this company. But my shipment arrived 1 week later than the date I was given, my memory foam bed was WET, smelled repugnant, and I had to throw it away later, the movers totally destroyed my real wooden dresser, and 2 boxes were still missing. I absolutely suggest you to choose another company!!
Terrible service
In the worst way, this company is bad. To start, they're doing a fantastic job of getting your business. They were very receptive and they called me constantly. They told me on the phone, whatever I wanted to hear, and they agreed to everything I asked to get under the contract. Once the documents were signed, the tune changed a lot. I couldn't get a hold of anyone by phone or email. I wanted to confirm as to when they were going to pick everything up. When they arrived, the moving crew refused to take 2 particular items that were highlighted in my contract as exceptions. Since I was moving across the country, I had to pack these into a full vehicle that made my trip uncomfortable. When I arrived at my new location, they were unable to tell me when they could bring my stuff. Once I was given a "timeline," it wasn't delivered within the timeline. Finally, on the day of delivery, they should have an overfilled new truck with many damages and missing things. They left the home dirty and didn't take any packing material. When it came to filing the claim, the process was made so difficult and technological that it would be beyond frustration for most of them. I think this is a dishonest attempt to deter individuals. You can see a basic result when you read other reviews. Best American Movers uses MovingClaims.Net to process claims. They're just giving you 10MB of photo upload, which means that if a lot of things get damaged, you won't be able to submit all of them. I created a link to a shared folder to solve their problem, and this wasn't good enough for them, because it might be spam. Then I compressed them and sent them via email to a zip file, saying they can't open it because it might be spam. Because sending 1 email with all the photos would create a link (that they would call spam), I sent them a different email for each picture, they said their email software didn't accept multiple emails that looked very similar because they were categorized as spam. Then I sent only a few emails with the maximum number of image. Then I sent only a few emails with the maximum number of images allowed without creating a link, they said they could only use 1 email. Start to finish, I can't believe that this company is still in business. I hope this finds a lot of viewers, so you can avoid what I've been through for a few months. One thing is very clear, if you choose not to heed my advice, you should pay 1000 per cent for extra insurance because your valuables will be lost and others will be damaged.
Awful company
They're going with the name of America's best movers. They've got sales person Chris, customer rep Lisa, and another very rude lady Pauline. On Nov. 12, they picked my items from California. It is due to be delivered on 1st week of December. I've been calling them 100 times or more. The answer I got is that my things are still in California, and they don't board a truck to move to Texas.Pauline did not talk after talking last week and stopped resting on text messages. Customer Rep has no idea what's going on in the office, every one of them says sorry and no updates from California yet. Chris is a big liar, and he says he has no control over higher management, who's pauline. All together, this company runs in multiple names and makes false promises and plays with people. I wish I could give so many negative numbers to rate them.
Won´t use again
They may be good for moving, and not anything else, but there's no way I'll ever use them again or suggest that you pack for yourself if you feel the need to use them. I paid the extra for the "white" gloves service. Which was meant to include wrapping, packing, moving, and furniture setup. What I got was boxing, not wrapping or packing. The boxes weren't marked, and I didn't know what I was going to find when I opened the box. And even if I was all right with that, I wasn't all right with my electronics just thrown in a box. Nor was I ok, my desk being taken apart, not putting it back together, or putting a bookcase on top of a file cabinet in my new home. I tried to make contact with the company and file a complaint, and what I got was "So what are we supposed to do, I am on a call with a client." They were great up until the day of the move.
They damage and loose your possessions
The worst company ever used to be. The final price was double quoted. I ended up paying $7700 from $3600!! They're also lying about using their own trucks and workers. They pick valuable things from their staff and steal them. I lost a king size mattress, TV, toolbox, etc. The rest of the items had arrived in bad shape and damaged missing parts for assembly. If you want to get ripped off and lose your valuables, use them!
