Horrible business.
A video call provided us with a quote. They hiked the price a few weeks later. We agreed on a pick-up date. They attempted to change the date the day before. They claim on their website that they have their own trucks, however for pickup, they provided an Uhaul. Then they didn't notify us that they were going to deliver on a Sunday. They arrived, and they only accept cash or money orders. Sunday is a bank holiday. Tina claimed no one has called us since 21st, according to the phone log. Nonetheless, my husband called them on July 8 to inquire about a status update. Vanessa promised to phone us when the delivery would arrive, but she never did. They arrived in an Enterprise truck. They claim their drivers are professional, however, they posted a Craigslist ad for delivery (which we witnessed). One of them pulled our couch over our wooden floor. This is a dreadful company. There is no communication, and their website is false.
We didn't keep our end of the bargain.
For my recent transfer from California to New York, I used Empire Moving and Storage. Their specialized vehicle cost a lot of money, but they guaranteed in their contract that they would be able to deliver within five to seven calendar days of picking up. Regrettably, they did not. They delivered late, and when I contacted to express my dissatisfaction, the customer support representative shrugged and murmured something about how I didn't understand the intricacies involved. That is correct! That's why I believed (and paid more for) the delivery time you promised me. (That delivery time was devised by Safebound in the first place.) It is evident that this firm has no intention of keeping its commitments. I would not use them again or suggest them to anybody else.
I was dissatisfied with the delivery timeframe.
Empire Moving and Storage Although their quote was higher than others, I chose them since I needed a stress-free move. Unfortunately, they overpromised and underdelivered. I was promised it would take 10 days, but it really took 20 days for my items to arrive. What was even more upsetting was that Empire Moving and Storage seemed to disengage once they picked up my belongings, instead of giving me the number of a dispatch person to contact for information and offering no assistance as the day progressed to the right. They didn't even have the decency to return my phone calls when I asked for information/help when the date moved. To say the least, it was aggravating. I chose to give them an estimate rather than an unsatisfactory score because all of my items eventually arrived and only a couple of glasses and bowls were broken in travel, and I noticed that a couple of my boxes had extra tape and wrap around them, giving me the impression that some care was taken while my items were in transit. If I have to relocate again, I will look into other organizations.
I simply wanted to post my story.
We modified our minds and canceled before the 72-hour limit, and we were promised that our money will be refunded back to our account within a few days. It's been over three weeks since they informed me that, and the credit is still not showing up in my account, so I called my credit card company and started the dispute process. When I called them and inquired why it was taking so long, they simply stated that it was the end of the month and they were really busy. That's a terrible argument because they took my deposit in record time. I have never used their transport company yet, but this incident has made me quite wary of them. I hope this information is useful.
Amazing service
Till now, these workers have been incredible. I'm pleased I done my research on them, and the owner is fantastic. He even came over to see the property in order to provide an estimate. I've got three people, and they're going fast. It makes things easier if you have everything packed and broken down. So far, I'm quite pleased. I couldn't be happier with everything. Completely recommended!
Good servicie.
My wife and I were completely taken aback when my job promotion took us across the country and away from our relatives. Allen, our consultant, was very helpful in calming us down. We had lesser estimates, but we felt the most comfortable with Empire. The guys were fantastic on the day of the move, hardworking but careful with the few antiques we had We moved over 2000 miles and expected to be waiting weeks for delivery, however, they practically beat us to our new house. When they arrived at our new home, the foreman approached my wife and asked, "How do you want your new home set up?" She handled traffic and had our things placed exactly where she wanted them, I'd simply like to thank Empire for making this stressful life event so much easier.
Amazing moving company!
They arrived today in the afternoon, workers did an excellent job of packing and wrapping at the location. Will keep reviewing after delivery, but things are looking well for the delivery time is being awesome, everything was pretty good moving with this company.
My moving experience
All of my belongings are with this company; they seemed great until they received my money, but nine days later, my belongings are still in the originating state; I can't get a hold of anyone, and no one calls me back; they are holding my household goods hostage for whatever reason, and the paperwork is incomplete and confusing, and my moving estimate nearly quadrupled. In their fairness, I certainly had more items than I imagined, but double? Please do yourself a favor and use someone else! DO NOT USE EMPIRE MOVING UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED.
It took us two weeks to collect our belongings, and there were $3K in missing tools and destroyed items.
What a terrible situation. The movers were inexperienced and unprofessional (only a few items were wrapped appropriately). We received our items two weeks after they were promised. Our tools (chainsaw, many bags of hand tools) had vanished. The couch and tables were scratched. A shelving unit, as well as a dresser, were completely destroyed. It's been two months since we made our claim for the inadequate $0.60/pound insurance they provide. We have yet to receive a response, and no one is returning our calls. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Other nice ratings are more than likely from their own workers.
Really unhappy.
This company was a big disappointment. We were charged close to $3000, but once everything was said and done on moving day, it came to more than $4500. The salesperson who dealt with my husband was unpleasant and stated that we had not notified the person who priced us of everything we had. We boxed up over 90% of our belongings, and my spouse openly stated everything we had in our home. We had no choice than to pay in order to proceed.to pay in order to proceed with the move The two men who relocated us were pleasant, but once they had our belongings, we had no touch with anyone. For nearly two weeks, our items were "lost." Efforts to contact empire and "Jon Allen" to gain an ETA on when our products would be delivered to us were met with silence. If emails were responded to, they stated that they would "check on it."Nobody ever responded to us. Finally, on Thanksgiving Day, we received a phone call informing us that our furniture would be delivered the next day. They scheduled a period between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Our products did not arrive till after 4 p.m. Several objects were broken, including a bed that is completely irreparable, a brand new television, and several items that cannot be replaced. Fragile-labeled boxes were turned upside down. When the items were turned right side up, you could hear them break. Almost all of our primary furniture had scratches or missing parts, and everything was heaped on top of each other without any form of wrapping or blankets to protect it from damage. After all of this had been said and done, I phoned the company to file a claim. I faxed, emailed, and completed the necessary paperwork, and I was told that everything was fine. My data would be forwarded to their claims department. Jon Allen assured me that he would check into it after several weeks of quiet and attempts to get an answer. Again..silence. After several phone calls and emails, I finally reached out to the operator and obtained a phone number for CSI, which presumably processes claims. When I contacted them, they informed me that they had no claim under my name or move number. I had to start from scratch with a fresh claim. What could have been a quick and painless resolution has now taken nearly 3 months only to file a new claim, I am enraged by the lack of communication and lack of professionalism that I have experienced from this company. My son is still without a bed, and we are without a brand new television, not to mention our furniture, which was relatively new but now appears to have been put through the ringer.
