Do NOT use this company

The original quote ended up being 4times the original amount. Each time they sent the list of our belongings to review it was out of order and incorrect. They jacked up the price days before we had to move, leaving us no alternative but to pay. The movers who showed up had been contracted and then demanded an extra $800 in cash or they would leave. The truck they brought had someone else's belongings and told us the space from the top of the tire to the top of the wheel well counted as available moving space!?! We couldn't even fit all of our belongings on the truck and this was after we had to pay extra for a big truck, which didn't show up. The only person that was nice was the original guy we spoke to and after they had our $2k deposit attitudes changed and extra money was demanded. Our belongings were delivered by a different crew who then said they weren't movers just drivers. Many of our belongings are broken and damaged and we can't afford to hire an attorney to take them to court because of the money they drained from us!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY WILL TELL YOU. WHAT THEY ARE DOING SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!!!

I wish I could give 0 stars

Oh how I wish I would have seen all of the prior posts about this company before I booked with them!!! Emerald Moving and Logistic out of Boca Raton FL is full of lies! First and foremost, yes-they have excellent sales people who can make you feel like you are getting a great deal and that they will really take care of you through the entire process; however once you hang up that phone call after booking -they will NEVER return your calls or reply to your texts (PC, I'm talking about you!) They are a BROKER! Do not accept their comments such as "We will not broker your move, with a move this small we will use our own trucks" - THEY DON'T HAVE ANY TRUCKS! They do not come out to do a visual inspection of your inventory in order to quote you. They base it on what you tell them and then guesstimate the cubic ft needed for the move. If you make any change of any size or amount to what you told them on the phone they charge you $500 for an inventory change! Once the brokered moving truck arrives (Four Seasons Moving at 8:00pm on a Monday night) they tell you that the estimate is not accurate and charge you more for the additional cubic feet they say they used in their truck. THEN, Four Seasons transfers your stuff to another company (AMT Moving LLC) who drops off and picks up new loads on the way to your destination which makes them arrive more than 24 hours after promised (at 9:45pm on a Saturday night). So now we have paid a deposit to Emerald, an inventory change fee to Emerald, a cubic feet increase to Four Seasons and the final payment goes by Zelle or cash to whoever the random person is delivering (not even a company account). Thankfully all of our items arrive and non were damaged! In total, our move cost us $1000 MORE than what we were originally quoted. When trying to contact a manager with customer service at Emerald after the move (since no one returned my calls or texts during the week of the move) I was then told that since the delivery was made and payment accepted there was nothing they could do for me based on "company policy"! PLEASE PLEASE FUTURE MOVER - THINK TWICE and even 3 times before booking with Emerald!!!

SCAMMERS, RUN, RUN, RUN

This is not a moving company, these are HORRIBLE BROKERS charging people a BROKERAGE FEE not the actual cost of your move, they will tell you they are carriers, same truck that picks you up will be the same truck delivering you, meanwhile they have 0 TRUCKS, 0 FLEET, 0 DRIVERS, AND HAVE DRIVEN 0 MILES, please people read reviews and BELIEVE WHAT YOU'RE READING these people are an absolute nightmare. This SCAM only accepts ACH check, ZELLE, WIRE TRANSFER AND CASH APP, are you JOKING?? If you can't use a major credit or debit card please HANG UP THE PHONE because then you have NO RECOURSE and you can't get a REFUND if you use any of those payment methods so please read the BBB REVIEWS, REDDIT REVIEWS, REVIEW MOVERS, THERE'S SOOOO MANY HORRIBLE REVIEWS I CAN'T KEEP UP this organization needs to be SHUT DOWN they're absolution DISGUSTING...

They lie about basically everything

I just want to write this review to advise people. My moving with them was traumatic. Nothing just worked as planned. I paid 1500 usd over the first price they gave me plus all the stuff I have to leave behind plus as the deliver date wasn’t true I had to pay 3 hotel nights and finally bought mattress for the rest of the days until my stuff came. I probably spent altogether over 4000 usd more that the estimation due to all this “unexpected “ events plus one of my furniture is missing, I’m filing a claim right now, so more work and more time and don’t know if they will pay for it.

Don’t do it

Avoid this company and all of their DBA’s at all costs. They lie lie lie. Started with Courtney who promised this was white glove service, she said they pack and wrap everything for you and unpack and stage your entire home at drop off. She said that their movers and trucks are their own employees and trucks, said they would take me off the list that moving companies get so I would stop getting calls. Lie lie lie. Our stuff was picked up and delivered by a third party company, things were missing, things were broken. The movers themselves scratched our floors, left our bikes with the handle bars twisted, our inflatable tires popping out of the rubber tire, broken items, missing items and didn’t unpack or even unwrap anything…..and I’m still getting calls from movers and we moved over 2 weeks ago, and now both emerald and the movers (all movers) are ghosting me when I try to contact them about missing boxes. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I should’ve listened to the research when I was vetting companies but I ignorantly already out a deposit down of over a grand. It’s all a joke and a scam and I pray this company doesn’t last much longer. They are huge liars and literally don’t care about you and your things they literally don’t even deserve one star. Wanda, Hailey, Courtney, they lie.

Scammers

Emerald called me saying they are the broker and carrier. Informing me not only of the difference between a broker and a carrier, but proceeding to highlight why they are better than anyone else. Because they did both. They got me to send them a deposit on a $4.6k estimate while ensuring me that the price was final and would not come with any additional fees on the day of moving or receiving move delivery. Turns out they are NOT carriers. Simple brokers (and not even good at that part). They did a terrible job of sourcing our moving team.. The crew they hired to move us had a website with 3x disconnected numbers and were impossible to contact during the moving process. The crew they hired also caused damage to the property we were moving out of, damage to a lot of the personal belongings we had in the truck AND on top of that, there were a significant amount of included fees. When I called Emerald to figure out why I was being charged extra, my sales rep (Matthew Wolf) was supposedly sick that day and could not recieve a call. A woman named Wanda did little to nothing to help either, basically telling me that even though I was lied to about the company being a broker and carrier combo, that the beat they could do was cancel my move, keep the money paid for a deposit and I could find someone else. On the day of the move she tells us this. We were forced to continue the move with them and the dodgy and poorly staffed moving crew that Emerald found for us. Although I wish I had the option to cancel my order, let them keep the deposit money they essentially scammed out of us, but unfortunately we would not have been in state anymore to get another moving crew organized. Ended up paying a total of $7886.00, had to patch up drywall and do repairs inside the house before leaving, had to wait 3 weeks for the delivery of the house to the new property, and throughout the entire process, Emerald did nothing to even help us get in touch with the crew they hired. We thought that we had literally been scammed and our valuable goods all stolen. They did finally arrive, but this was the worst 3 week experience of my entire life. Never use Emerald. They lie, do a bad job and do not try to help with anything you need except taking your deposit money.
