Overprice
I was quoted one price ($385) for moving a grandfather clock approximately 40 miles. When I arrived, I was told that $100 more was needed for shipping material, which was more than 25% of the job. According to the Eagle office, the quoted price was an estimate that did not include packing material costs. When scheduling the appointment, the representative was repeatedly asked if this was the final price. He confirmed that it was $385 because there would be no tolls on a State Highway. However, upon the arrival of the truck, it was explained that the company's stance is that paper work sent to me prior to the job states that I am responsible for shipping materials. However, there is no indication of the cost of shipping material for this job, or any job, on or accompanying the contract. Because nothing is recorded, it could be anything from a penny to thousands of dollars. I'm not sure if the cost is just what they believe they can get from the customer upon meeting them or if it's a standard fee because there's no indication of it anywhere. The alternative option was to move the clock in a less secure manner by signing a waiver that released Eagle from any liability for any damage to the clock. However, why would anyone agree to ship something valuable in a way that professionals deemed unsafe? Rather than looking for another mover, we chose to pay the surprise charge and tolls. The main point here is not so much the cost as it is the deceptive manner in which the extra cost was presented and applied.
Disrespectful driver
We pulled into the Pilot truck stop in Toms Brooks, Virginia. And your driver in truck #2805 was inside making him a cup of coffee before going to get him a donut, which he ate half of before throwing the rest in the trash and walking around inside before leaving without paying for anything. And we now understand why prices continue to rise. It makes you wonder what else he's stealing from the people who entrust him with their belongings.

Professional moving company
Moving houses is always a difficult and exhausting task, but Eagle Van Lines made our move simple and efficient. On-time arrival, quick packing of items, particularly the sofa set and bed, and delivery to the correct address without any damage to any items. Both men were very humble and quick at their jobs. We were quickly finished packing and moving to a new house. A positive recommendation.

Respectful and hardworking movers
Eagle Van Lines NJ has exceeded my expectations. We relocated from Fort Lee to Avenel, and it was a pleasure to work with them. It took about 8 hours, including loading and unloading. They were probably more conscientious about my belongings and the apartment than I was! I would absolutely recommend them for moving because moving is always a hassle, but they make it much more enjoyable. In fact, they were extremely professional, respectful, friendly, and hardworking.
