It was a desaster
Worst broker in history. They collaborate with a slew of untrustworthy and slacker carriers who keep your product way over the agreed-upon delivery date. Only one individual has been of assistance, I don't remember her name. She provided me with her personal phone number in an attempt to assist me in dealing with the garbage they hired to transfer merchandise. CUSTOMER DISAPPOINTED! Call D & J if you don't mind your product being in the hands of unskilled individuals for two months.
from NY to NY
Avoid them!! Be aware
I've relocated across oceans three times with no problems. I had more trouble with D & J Moving town than relocating 3500+ miles. I've expressed my concerns to the company's co-owners, who have yet to reply substantively. After several months of inaction, I've decided to write this review. If you pick D & J, here are some pointers: do not sign ANY papers until the transfer is complete. In order for them to upcharge you later, insist on a genuine walk-through by their estimator rather than a phone consultation. Do not tip until the maneuver is completely finished. Check that any waste has been removed from the building to avoid being penalized by your landlord. Set aside anything of value that cannot be put into a mover's own rucksack. Insist on tape that will not leave marks on your furnishings. If anything is destroyed or damaged, don't expect a fair payment.
The bait and trap
I was given pricing to ship my automobile from Michigan to Wyoming, which I accepted and paid a deposit on. The vehicle was supposed to be picked up, but it never arrived. When I contacted the firm, they informed me that I would have to pay a higher cost in the HOPE that one of their contractors would complete their commitment. Staff was adamantly opposed to working with me, and the customer representative who negotiated the contract with me has yet to return my call. This organization cannot be relied on to fulfill any deal they get into with a consumer.
Awful service!
I started calling and asked for assistance with moving a table to the second floor of my residence in Ohio, and was surprised by the impatient representative who wouldn't let me finish a sentence and explain myself, I let my husband continue the conversation, but he faced Unprecedented insolence, what a shame for a moving company, stay away from this company and look for another company that respects its customers!!
Worst company I've ever worked with!
This firm should not be used. For nearly a month, we had two containers booked. We got emails on the day they were meant to come informing us that they would be there. As the day progressed, I became anxious since I had not heard from anyone. I called and was told they would be there shortly. They never arrived, and the movers arrived the next day to load. I had to pay the 2-and-a-half-hour minimum and look for another firm.
Miserable.
When our package came, the locks were missing from two containers, I had lost some of my items they never answered my calls and my emails. Damaged products were not replaced, and the shipment was delayed.
Terrible service
You should not do business with them. They made my relocation exceedingly difficult. They repeatedly messed up my delivery date, lied to me about paying movers to unload my pod at the warehouse, and then forced me to get a UHaul and unload and relocate it myself. Dirt, trash, grime, and rodents contaminated the contents of my pod. This is in addition to all of the problems I experienced with them in the beginning with destination and pod drop off.
Customer BEAWARE , do not use this company
After renting a truck, I'm hoping to go to my house tomorrow and unload it myself. I wouldn't be publishing this review if I thought this was a one-time occurrence, but I read reviews from people all across the country who have had similar situations. I'm adding my voice to the chorus of dissatisfaction. I've waited on line for hours on the phone and days for a call back in order to get my container delivered to my house. Finally, I'm renting a u-haul truck to transport the container. Remember0. Customer service is completely non-existent. They promise to call you back, that they will get a resolution specialist and even a manager to call you, but they never do. The barrier to really contacting someone is enormous. I hope that any of you who have experienced problems with this firm will report them to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Washington State Utilities and Transportation Commission. Because these men have other businesses, they are able to remain anonymous. Be aware that the subcontract is with PackRat, a subsidiary.
It was a disaster
Extremely unprofessional. Their support service takes hours to contact, they were late dropping off our shell, and the WORST part is that I phoned them on the day our shell was meant to arrive and IT HAD NOT EVEN LEFT THE ORIGINAL CITY. And we wouldn't have known if I hadn't contacted them!! They couldn't tell us when it was going to arrive or when it was going to leave. If they don't handle this appropriately, I'm thinking about filing a lawsuit - we're paying rent on a property we can't live into! Do not use this disgusting company!
Dreadful service
I was relocating from Sonoma County to Salt Lake City and found the salesman to be quite helpful and truthful. They sent me a container that wouldn't close and didn't care that it was going to rain and would leak into it. It was necessary for me to tarp it myself. When I arrived to pick it up, the driver stated that they had a lot of containers that don't close. Another surprise is the storage cost,' which the 'honest' salesperson assured me was already included. I asked him directly if it was included in the price. The entire pick-up process took four phone calls and continual disinformation. The delivery time was almost the same because they promised 8 a.m. and then told me it was an estimate after I contacted them because they didn't show up. That means I had a moving team waiting for them, and they really showed up! Be aware that if you contact D & J Moving LLC, you will be speaking with someone in Florida or somewhere in the south who is only staring at a computer screen and has no genuine information other than the script they are provided. They're only doing their jobs; the problem is the middleman.
