Stay away from this company
The price increased as soon as the furniture was loaded onto the truck. Despite the fact that the estimate was for two bedrooms, I just accepted one. Then they asked for additional money to be transferred to them, which I did. I have yet to see my furniture.
Don`t hire them
Using this company was our biggest mistake ever - no, it was not reading the reviews on YELP first. Do not be misled by any pleasant or professional-sounding employees who answer the phone during your initial call. Almost everything they told me at first was an utter lie; they keep your belongings hostage and do not give you an exact delivery date! I could go on and on, but to save myself and everyone else who is considering using this "business," please read the reviews and DO NOT HIRE!!
Cross-country move
My cousin used Century for their relocation last year and highly recommended them to me. It's difficult to find a dependable mover these days, so I appreciated the recommendation, and Century came through for me. Following a layoff in San Francisco, I wanted to relocate to the East Coast for a period of time to be closer to home. The moving process went smoothly, and despite the fact that I didn't have much to move, my belongings were packed and handled with care.
Great experience
My husband and I hired Century to transport our belongings, including our SUV, from Manhattan to Florida. The move went perfectly, and the team that arrived was excellent, asserting to have worked on numerous long-distance moves. All we had to do was fly to South Beach and wait for them to arrive. They arrived on time, and our SUV arrived a day later, which was awesome because we were a little late.
Awful
This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a company. Despite the fact that each item was specified on my inventory quote, they requested $1,000 more. They parked illegally and then fined me $75 for the violation. They shipped late, then charged me an additional $350 carrying fee while refusing to measure, despite the fact that I was right next to the elevator. They refused to wear a mask, didn't have any materials to make the furniture, broke two of my favorite pieces, and misplaced two boxes. The driver smashed the garage loading fence, but more importantly, they threatened my son if we protested. We have now been waiting for the claim for over six months. Then I figure out they just want to pay me $67! DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!! They are morally bankrupt!
from New York to Montauk
Move within New York
We wanted to abandon the city for a while and relocated to our Montauk summer condo. The relocation went off without a hitch. There were no delays in picking up or delivering our belongings. Tim Powell, the foreman in charge of our relocation, was a joy to work with.
