My worst desicion was chosing them
Do not schedule any services with these individuals under any circumstances!! They are dishonest and unprofessional people. Capital City Movers LLC will subcontract the work to a moving firm, and you may not get your things within the time range you choose. Read the small print and let yourself 30 days before receiving anything! They have no sympathy for long-distance movers and will request a non-refundable deposit, so you are virtually trapped with them!!
Most of my items were mising
I was told two things: at least 24 hours' notice before delivery, and no cash payment was asked for anything. Months later, the mover contacted to say he'd be there in two to three hours and demanded cash payment. I flatly refused. Following a major delay, the mover contacted again with two hours' notice, urging that I take delivery that day and pay a $300 "redelivery" charge. The firm then informed me that I would be given ample notice and would not be charged a "redelivery fee." The following time the mover called, he gave me three hours' warning and demanded that I pay the redelivery and storage expenses in cash. I still haven't gotten my items, despite the fact that it's been over a year.
Unpreffossional, unethical and losers!!
Please take it from me. ALL of the good evaluations regarding this firm have been posted by PAID reviewers. THIS IS THE WORST MOVING COMPANY IN HISTORY!! THEY DON'T DESERVE A BUSINESS LICENSE. Your things will be kept hostage, and after you pay, they will be delivered DAMAGED, DIRTY, and/or WET, not to mention missing aka stolen. Good luck attempting to persuade the management staff! Use someone else instead of these dishonest, unprofessional individuals... learn from our calamitous experience. You have been warned.
from Destin to Tampa
Liars, Thieves!!
I am using this company for their heinous bullying, breach of contract, and outright lies! I demand that my money be returned to me. I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General. In fact, I've heard from a number of consumers who have had similar situations. And we are banding together to file a class-action lawsuit, and we will not let up until this company is closed down!! The favorable ratings on this site are just FAKE!! This company should not be used in, from, or to Florida!! If you do, you will be sorry!
Worst Movers and company !
I picked this firm since they claimed not to be brokers and had a lot of 5-star ratings on their website. They subcontracted my task to NW Relocation, who referred to themselves as brokers. I'm inclined to believe that based on my own experience. I had a bad experience and received no assistance from Capital City Movers LLC. I would as well not have existed after they got my deposit. About a week after my items were eventually delivered, I received a phone call from my initial salesman. He claimed he couldn't help me and would transfer me to Customer Support. From then, I was subjected to a never-ending cycle of voicemail and missed calls. My phone calls were never responded. I filed a claim for my broken products and missing boxes three months ago, and I still haven't heard anything except an email two months ago urging me to be patient. There were precious objects in those crates, items that were not worth much money but were priceless in terms of sentimental value. I cannot and would not recommend this firm, and considering the bad Yelp ratings and the vast amount of complaints I saw on the Better Business Bureau website (after the fact, sadly), I am highly skeptical of the 5-star reviews on this website!
They are shambles !!
This firm and their "crime syndicate" quoted a "binding" not-to-exceed price, which we held them to. On the day they arrive, this man walks in for a brief look and is throwing his arms in the air, as if to say, "Who quoted you this?" and "We can't possibly accept all of this for that price." They compelled us to go to the bank and obtain cash, as well as sign a new contract price that was quadruple the initial binding amount. I just wanted to see if there were any other reviews like mine. I am certain they do this on a regular basis and have individuals post false evaluations!
I would never suggest them to anybody!!
This is the worst moving company I've ever used - I'm in the military and have moved seven times in the last 12 years, and not once has a moving company broken, lost, or stolen so many boxes. My package of deployment souvenirs was misplaced, stolen, or whatever. Despite this, it has yet to be discovered! I had blankets that I had crocheted for my children over a decade ago - GONE! What did they give me as a settlement - $150? What in the world is that supposed to replace? The crib was damaged, and I had so much stuff missing, including military uniforms, that I had to pay over $350 to replace them, and yet they only offered me $150 as a settlement amount. Worst company ever, and I would never suggest them to anybody since they put other people's personal stuff in danger of loss, damage, or theft.
Never hire this dreadful company
First and foremost, the mover in Florida badly packed my belongings, and they did not transport my belongings professionally to their vehicle. Sliding it down the stairwells, for example. The delivery of,y items was a week late. They gave me a price over the phone for $1400, but when they arrived at my house, they charged me $2400. They could have dismantled my furniture correctly and saved a lot of room. It was hurriedly completed. My belongings came roughly a week late because of a different moving partner business. Swift transportation services. And the drivers were basically throwing my belongings on the road because I refused to pay him the extra money he asked for. Finally, I had to pay him because I had a pregnant wife at home and couldn't move the furniture on my own. When the goods came, several of them were completely shattered and ruined. All of my furnishings had water damage. A dining table, a dressing table, and a cupboard. There was also a lot of mold and fungus on those. The mattress was dripping wet. We couldn't sleep any longer. A large amount of glassware was damaged, and fragile objects were not handled correctly. Because of the damp and soggy stuff, my new house has begun to stink. Not to add that the furniture I had was costly, and it is now completely ruined. I will never move again with these folks.
Do not sign with them
The salesperson was sent an email with an estimate from another company, which he studied before submitting a significantly cheaper offer to win the business. I called him and informed him that there were a handful of more items that should be included in the offer, and he stated that he had already "padded the bid" to account for that. So a bid that began at $3,715 ended up costing $8,980 after everything was said and done! The movers arrived at 5:30 p.m. (they were expected to arrive at noon) and began the move at 6 p.m. They departed at 4:00 a.m.! When the foreman arrived, I was advised that the estimate would rise from $3,715 to between $5,500 (best case scenario) and $7,200 (worst case scenario). He informed me that the foreman had not slept in two days, that he has a criminal past - a felony (which he also revealed with me), and that he was not professional. At 3:30 a.m., I was informed that my worst-case scenario of $7,200 would now be exceeded while my things sat out on my curve. When I was asked what I wanted to do, I said that I didn't know what I wanted to do. Because we were leaving town the next day, the movers understood I had no option but to proceed. Moving is difficult enough without having to deal with organizations like these.
