My experince with this company
My rights and responsibilities were never explained to me. When I pointed out the movers' carpet damage, the supervisor rushed off and told the driver, "I'm out of here, you deal with him." I bought full replacement value with no deductible. However, because I did not indicate damages on the acceptance of delivery form, the movers fail to give duty for damage to woodwork, carpets, and furniture. Although this driver knocks the delivery paperwork at you to sign, there isn't enough time to check the whole house and belongings. If you hire this moving business, be sure to thoroughly check your house and possessions regardless of how long the driver and team take. If the driver informs you that you have 90 days to submit a claim, do not trust him. California New York Express will only compensate you if the damages are noted on the delivery form. Also, if you ask the movers whether they would take up your empty boxes, do not believe them when they claim you can just request refuse to pick up. There is a fee of $200 for this service. This firm should provide you with everything in writing. Consider another mover if you have alternative options.
from Buffalo to Syracuse
BEWARE!
When I required assistance dealing with the local movers California New York Express, customer service was really unpleasant and disrespectful. Worst company I've ever dealt with; I suppose it's no wonder they reach out to terrible firms given how horrible they are.
Do not use this company in any way!!
In Pittsburgh, I won a small claims court action against California New York Express (a Maryland branch of California New York Express) for gross negligence in transferring my belongings from Maryland to Pennsylvania. The sum given to me exceeds $12,000. The firm in question has been ordered by the Baltimore district court to appear in court in September 2021 to account for its claims in the execution of the Pennsylvania court's decision. Avoid California New York Express and its affiliates at all costs; you can anticipate unresponsive customer service and corporate stonewalling.
Worst customer service!
I decided to relocate across the nation and picked California New York Express. I deeply regret that decision! They failed to deliver on my specified delivery dates, forcing me to stay in a hotel for an additional 9 nights. I submitted a claim delay after being promised that I will be compensated for my hotel and meals (up to $100 for the stay and $50 for food). I was rejected my claim because my household weight was less than 280 pounds, and I have written many emails requesting for this to be reconsidered, but no one has responded. That is very inappropriate and great harm to me! This entire relocation cost me $7000 in addition to unnecessary stress.
Stay away from them
My furniture has been severely damaged and/or destroyed! And this company rejects responsibility! Being misled about the expense of your relocation! The exact amount, not an estimate! Having the manufacturer misplace your furniture, making it impossible to reassemble correctly! Go through an agonizing customer service encounter that results in no reimbursement or even acknowledgment of what went wrong! Terrible experience
Awful job
I moved recently from San Diego to Portland. The agency that I hired was California New York Express the relocation was without my knowledge until the day before the move when I had one day to evacuate the property or pay another month's rent. They had three cargoes on the truck, one of which was mine. I labeled everything with my new address; it's impossible to goof this up. They did, though. One shipment was sent to Reno, Nevada, and another to Idaho. When they came to my residence, everything was damaged and missing. How did you mix up Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada with my address labels on "ALL" boxes? All of the horror stories I've heard about relocating are still true, despite government rules ostensibly safeguarding the customer. I will never use or suggest this firm again. This firm and its sub-agents are terrible.
I would not recommend their services to anyone.
All of the important elements from my move were damaged. They were dishonest, and the driver walked away with these huge damaged pieces because he told me that this is what the protocol was and that he would take it to the warehouse. Instead, he "disposed" of it himself. As a result, they refused to compensate me for these goods during my appeal. I waited almost three months and my problem was still unresolved. I had almost $2,000 in damage that I was never able to recover. The customer service was terrible. Under any circumstances, They should not be permitted to continue operating in this way.
My move experience
I relocated from New York City to the Bay Area with a one-bedroom (Peninsula). I surveyed many companies for quotes and gave a competitive quote along with an in-person estimate by CA-NY Express. In terms of timing, they were prompt and encouraged an end-of-month transfer. There was no problem with moving furniture, including a dresser and a couch, or injury. There was not a problem with the self-packed boxes. In reconciling the listings on both ends, the movers were friendly. Furthermore, you got an email with a regular update on where the truck was when the truck was traveling around the country. For another pass, I would suggest the firm.
California-New York Express Movers
This company put my wallet and my mind at ease. Everyone with whom my son and I were dealing was competent, polite and successful. The whole procedure was smooth. This organization has followed through on all my goals. A recommendation for the use of this business is the greatest gift I could give someone who is making a change between the east and west coasts. Movers are not getting any better than this!!
Do not hire!!
I am not usually inclined to write reviews, but I am highly suspicious of the very rosy reviews of this business. With Unnecessary wear, my goods arrived in NY. ALL of the boxes were smashed, during transit 1/3 of the moving blankets "protecting" my furniture had holes from wear and I found a number of broken objects in boxes (including a metal grill pan that was broken). Twice, I've moved around the country and know that moving takes a toll on your things. This was more than excessive, however. The movers also did not practice social distancing, removed their masks and declined to wash their hands. One talked to his friend about how he didn't feel well upon delivery. I'd choose a different company.
